Hawaii Kai Boating and Marina Information for Hawaii Kai

The Hawaii Kai Marina is a privately owned Marina area, with a lagoon and numerous waterways, with both residential and commercial frontage. The Hawaii Kai Marina leads nto Maunalua Bay on the East side of Oahu. The Hawaii Kai Marina and Maunalua Bay are great places for watersports including boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddling, and snorkeling. Use of the Marina for recreational purposes is restricted to Hawaii Kai residents only. Non-residents who have slips can use the Marina for entrance and exit to their slips, but must use the Bay for recreation. Festivities at the Hawaii Kai Marina include an annual celebration of the 4th of July and the Annual Christmas "Festival of Lights" Boat Parade.

Generally speaking, the Hawaii Kai Marina/Koko Marina areas can accomodate boats up to about 30-35 feet long. The Marina bridge can accommodate a height of approximately 13 feet at mean tide at the highest point. Sailboats must have collapsible masts if they extend beyond 13 feet. Water depth is approximately 5 to 6 feet at slips. Most of the slips in the Marina are at private residneces or townhome/condominium complexes. Rented slips are available at the Koko Marina Shopping Center also. You can find out more information by contacting the Hawaii Kai Marina Community Association (HKMCA) (396-2469), as well as the Koko Marina (395-4737).
